Super bummed. This is our first time here and we were hoping for another place to eat regularly. There aren't a lot of great eateries in the Santa Cruz area so w keep hoping to find other good places.
The ambience is supposedly improved from how it used to be, but there's so much more they could do to make this an inviting place. Btw, it's empty on a Sunday when the places down the street are booked !
The food is just so/so. The chicken schnitzel meat was really good, but the aioli was gross and the salad dressing wasn't good either.
(Sigh) ... I really hoped to love it, but no go. -

Thanks to new ownership and two chefs from Cafe Cruz this place has gotten way better. Can't wait to see the good things to come. Menu is simple and still in development but everything we had was great. Steak was cooked perfect, polenta was one of my favorites and the fresh baked cookie dessert was definitely something we will come back for (my kids are excited we don't have to drive to BJs for pizookies anymore). I even loved the Brussels sprout appetizer. The bar also seems more contemporary and staff was great.

100% Delicious and Awesome.The new chef and crew is on top of their game. I ordered the ribeye it is one of the best steaks I've ever had.

Went for the Grand Re(Opening) and was impressed by the food, service, atmosphere. My cocktail was tasty and refreshing, salmon tacos had heat and generous serving of avocado to balance. Kids and husband cleaned their plates and we sampled three of the desserts on the menu. My daughter's arguing with me to give them 5 stars but I rarely give top ratings for anything. Looking forward to going back!
